How to connect GoDaddy to our WordPress website?

Connecting your GoDaddy domain with a WordPress website is easy and can be done in just a few steps.

You’ll need the following before getting started:

  • Access to your WordPress hosting account (for example, you may have purchased it from Bluehost or SiteGround)
  • Your GoDaddy login information (username and password)

Time needed: 10 minutes

Steps for Connecting a Domain Name from GoDaddy to Your WordPress Website:

  1. Log into your WordPress website hosting account

Log into the account you purchased your hosting plan through and access cPanel dashboard. In this case we’ll use Bluehost as an example – if you bought yours somewhere else, these steps might differ slightly but are generally similar across all providers that support one-click installations of WordPress.

  2. Manage your domain

Go to “Domains” section and click on the “Connect Domain” button.

  3. Setup the domain in your hosting panel

Enter your domain name into the appropriate field and click “Next” – this will automatically connect it with your Bluehost hosting account, so you can later install WordPress using one-click installer available through cPanel dashboard

  4. Go back to GoDaddy

Log in to GoDaddy where you purchased the domain name, go to My Products page and scroll down until you find Domains section:

  5. Manage your domain in GoDaddy

Click Manage next to your domain name that needs connecting with WordPress website hosted at Bluehost (in this example)

  6. Find ‘Custom Nameservers’

Scroll down until Nameservers section then select Custom option from dropdown menu:

  7. Connect your Nameservers in GoDaddy

Copy Nameserver information from Bluehost cPanel dashboard (under the “Connect Domain” button) and paste it in to appropriate fields at GoDaddy website. Once done, click Save.

  8. Finish the GoDaddy connection to your WordPress website

Finally, go back to Bluehost cPanel Dashboard -> Domains section and your domain should be visible there – simply click “Manage” next to it then select WordPress icon from list of available one-click installations.

The process of connecting a domain name purchased from GoDaddy with a WordPress website is relatively simple and straightforward. We hope this information helps you in connecting your WordPress website with GoDaddy.
